1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy describes how Medical Korea Service Co., Ltd. ("MKS", "we", "our", "us") collects, uses, retains, and protects information about you ("Client", "Patient", "you"). MKS is a licensed International Patient Facilitator (License No. A-2014-01-01-1414) registered at 4F, 8 Teheran-ro 2-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea.

This Policy is published in compliance with the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea (PIPA) and reflects relevant principles of the Personal Data Protection Act of Singapore (PDPA) and Indonesia's UU PDP No. 27/2022 where applicable to clients from those jurisdictions.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Identification: name, date of birth, nationality, passport details (when required for medical visa or hospital admission);
  • Contact: email, WhatsApp number, country of residence;
  • Medical: information you share to enable specialist matching, including past surgical history, allergies, medications, areas of concern, and goals;
  • Photographs you voluntarily share for consultation purposes;
  • Travel: arrival and departure plans, accommodation preferences.

Information automatically collected

  • Basic website usage data (browser type, device, approximate location based on IP). We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking.

You are not required to provide medical information you are uncomfortable sharing, but limited disclosure may limit our ability to coordinate appropriately.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely for the following purposes:

  • To coordinate consultations, appointments, and treatment with verified medical providers;
  • To communicate with you regarding your inquiry, scheduling, and aftercare;
  • To share relevant medical information with the treating specialist or hospital, with your prior consent, for the purpose of clinical assessment;
  • To comply with legal, regulatory, and licensing obligations;
  • To improve our service quality through internal review (using anonymized or aggregated data only).
We never use your information for marketing without your explicit, written consent. No newsletter, no testimonial, no case study, no photograph — nothing leaves our hands for marketing purposes without your separate written authorization, which you may withdraw at any time.

4. Information Sharing

We share your personal and medical information only with:

  • The treating specialist or hospital you select — limited to information necessary for clinical assessment and care, and only with your prior agreement;
  • Service providers acting on our behalf — for example, secure translation, only where necessary, bound by confidentiality;
  • Government or regulatory authorities — only where required by Korean law, court order, or regulatory request, and only the minimum information required.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share patient lists or contact lists with third parties. We do not provide your information to advertising networks or data brokers.

5. International Data Transfers

Because we serve patients from many countries, your information may be transferred to and processed in the Republic of Korea, where MKS is established, and to other countries where the treating hospital or service provider is located. We apply equivalent confidentiality protections regardless of jurisdiction.

For clients in Singapore, transfers comply with the PDPA's transfer-limitation principle. For clients in Indonesia, transfers comply with UU PDP cross-border transfer requirements. For clients in the EU/UK, we apply GDPR-equivalent safeguards on request.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal and medical information for five (5) years from the date of your last interaction with MKS, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized. The five-year retention reflects:

  • Korean medical record retention practice;
  • Potential need for reference in follow-up consultations or revision procedures;
  • Regulatory recordkeeping for our International Patient Facilitator License.

You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 7). Where deletion would conflict with a legal retention obligation, we will limit processing to what the obligation requires and delete the rest.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Delete your information ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention obligations;
  • Restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
  • Data portability — receive a copy of your information in a structured, commonly used format;
  • Lodge a complaint with the Personal Information Protection Commission of Korea (PIPC) or the equivalent authority in your country of residence.

To exercise any right, contact us at care@koreabeautytrip.com. We will respond within thirty (30) days.

8. Security Measures

We apply industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including:

  • Encrypted communication channels for sensitive information (TLS, end-to-end where possible);
  • Access restriction — only personnel directly involved in your coordination may access your information;
  • Confidentiality agreements with all employees and contractors;
  • Secure storage and regular backup with encryption at rest;
  • Periodic review of access logs and security practice.

No system is perfectly secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant regulatory authority without undue delay, in accordance with applicable law.

9. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses only essential cookies necessary for site function. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or behavioral profiling. We do not embed Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar tracking on this site.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or prominent website notice at least thirty (30) days before they take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
