1. No Medical Provider Status

Medical Korea Service Co., Ltd. ("MKS") is a licensed International Patient Facilitator (License No. A-2014-01-01-1414, issued by the Mayor of Seoul). MKS is not a hospital, clinic, medical institution, or healthcare provider of any kind. MKS does not employ physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, or any other licensed medical personnel.

MKS does not own, operate, control, or supervise any hospital or medical facility. The hospitals and specialists within our network are independent third parties holding their own Korean medical licenses and operating under their own clinical authority.

Plain language: MKS connects you with verified Korean specialists and coordinates the logistics of your journey. MKS does not perform, prescribe, diagnose, or treat any medical condition.

2. Coordination Services Only

The services MKS provides are administrative and coordinative only, including:

  • Introduction to verified specialists and hospitals;
  • Scheduling and translation support;
  • Liaison between you and the treating physician;
  • Travel and aftercare logistics guidance.

MKS does not engage in any activity that requires a Korean medical license.

3. Direct Patient–Physician Relationship

The patient–physician relationship is established directly between you and your treating specialist. This relationship begins when:

  • You meet with the specialist for in-person or remote consultation;
  • You sign the surgical consent form with the hospital;
  • The specialist accepts you as a patient.

MKS is not a party to this relationship. MKS does not:

  • Co-sign your surgical consent;
  • Participate in clinical decision-making;
  • Override or modify the treating physician's clinical judgment;
  • Provide a "second opinion" or any clinical assessment.

4. No Medical Advice

Nothing communicated by MKS — whether on this website, in WhatsApp messages, email, or in person — constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendation. We do not advise:

  • Whether a specific procedure is appropriate for you;
  • Which medication, dosage, or treatment protocol to follow;
  • Whether you are a suitable candidate for any surgery;
  • How to interpret medical test results or imaging.

All such determinations require direct clinical assessment by a licensed physician. If MKS communicates information from a specialist, we are acting as a courier of that information — not its author.

5. No Guarantee of Outcomes

MKS makes no guarantee, warranty, or representation regarding:

  • Surgical results, aesthetic outcomes, or recovery timeline;
  • Absence of complications, side effects, scarring, asymmetry, or sensory change;
  • Subjective satisfaction with the result;
  • Comparison to before/after photographs of other patients.

Each patient is biologically unique. Healing varies. Aesthetic perception is subjective. Surgical outcomes depend on factors including but not limited to: patient anatomy, age, skin condition, lifestyle, post-operative compliance, and biological response.

6. Pre-existing Conditions

You are responsible for disclosing accurately and completely all relevant medical history, including:

  • Past surgeries, procedures, and treatments;
  • Chronic conditions (cardiovascular, diabetic, autoimmune, psychiatric, etc.);
  • Current medications and supplements;
  • Allergies, particularly to medications, anesthesia, or materials;
  • Smoking, alcohol use, and substance use;
  • Family history relevant to the procedure.

Failure to disclose accurately may increase your risk of complications and may void protections under your treating provider's professional liability framework. MKS cannot assess medical risk and relies on the treating specialist for clinical clearance.

7. Emergency Situations

MKS does not provide emergency medical services. In the event of a medical emergency:

  • If in Korea, call 119 (the Korean emergency line) immediately;
  • Contact your treating hospital's emergency line, which will have been provided to you;
  • You may notify MKS afterwards so that we may assist with coordination, translation, and family communication.

MKS coordinators are available during posted hours and will respond as quickly as possible outside of those hours, but we are not staffed to provide real-time emergency response.

8. Aftercare & Follow-up

Aftercare is provided by your treating specialist and hospital, not by MKS. MKS may coordinate aftercare appointments, translation, and logistics during the agreed coordination period. You are responsible for:

  • Following the specific aftercare instructions given by your treating specialist;
  • Attending scheduled follow-up appointments;
  • Reporting any unusual symptoms to the treating provider promptly;
  • Seeking local medical attention upon return to your home country for any concerns that arise after you leave Korea.

The treating specialist is the appropriate point of contact for any clinical question regarding healing, complications, or revision.

9. Risks & Complications Inherent to Surgery

You acknowledge that every surgical and medical procedure carries inherent risk, including but not limited to:

  • Infection at the surgical site or systemically;
  • Bleeding, hematoma, or seroma formation;
  • Scarring, hypertrophic scarring, or keloid formation;
  • Asymmetry, irregular contour, or aesthetic dissatisfaction;
  • Numbness, altered sensation, or nerve injury;
  • Adverse reaction to anesthesia or medication;
  • Need for revision or additional procedures;
  • In rare cases, more serious complications including thromboembolism or other systemic events.

These risks exist regardless of the surgeon's skill or the hospital's standard. They are inherent to surgery itself. You should discuss the specific risks of your procedure in detail with your treating specialist before signing surgical consent.

10. Right to Decline Services

MKS reserves the right to decline or discontinue coordination services if, in our reasonable judgment:

  • The requested procedure carries risk disproportionate to the patient's apparent suitability;
  • The patient's stated goals appear inconsistent with realistic medical outcomes;
  • Continued coordination would not serve the patient's best interest;
  • The patient declines to provide accurate medical history;
  • There is reason to believe coordination would violate Korean law or our professional standards.

This judgment is exercised in good faith and is not a substitute for clinical assessment by a licensed physician.

11. Acknowledgment

By engaging Medical Korea Service, you confirm that you have read this Medical Disclaimer, that you understand MKS is a coordination service and not a medical provider, and that you accept the inherent risks of any medical or surgical procedure.

The honest sentence: "He doesn't sell surgery. He decides who should have it." Even our judgment about whether to coordinate is not a clinical judgment. The clinical judgment belongs to the specialist who will operate. Treat their advice with the seriousness it deserves.
